NBA Playoffs: Billups, Anthony lead Nuggets into West finals

Western Conference:
Dallas 110 - Denver 124
Denver wins series 4-1

Who’d have thought, at the beginning of this season, that the Nuggets would be the first team to reach the Western conference finals? Carmelo Anthony had 30 points and 5 rebounds, and Chauncey Billups had 28 points, 7 rebounds, and 12 assists to lead Denver into the [...]

NBA Playoffs: Cavs sweep Hawks, Mavericks force Game 5

Eastern Conference:
Cleveland 84 - Atlanta 74
Cleveland wins series 4-0

Another series goes ‘fo for the Cavs. LeBron James had 27 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists, and Cleveland showed that they’re progressing from being the “Cleveland LeBrons” one-man show into a better and truer team, with great performances throughout the lineup for another sweep in the [...]

NBA Playoffs: Cavs, Nuggets each go up 3-0

Eastern Conference:
Cleveland 97 - Atlanta 82
Cleveland leads series 3-0

I wondered in my last post if LeBron James would crack 40 minutes, or if they would even be challenged by the Atlanta Hawks. And guess what? Both did happen in this game. And the Cavs still won convincingly. James had 47 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 [...]

NBA Playoffs: Cavs pound Hawks, Denver goes up 2-0

Eastern Conference:
Atlanta 72 - Cleveland 99
Cleveland leads series 1-0

Rust? No such thing for LeBron James and the Cavaliers. Coming off a long rest because they swept their first round series versus Detroit, while Atlanta’s series with Miami went the full seven games, the Cavs showed little signs of being affected.
LeBron James was presented the Most [...]

NBA Playoffs: Hawks advance; Denver opens the semis with a bang

Eastern Conference:
Miami 78 - Atlanta 91
Atlanta wins series 4-1

This series has truly been the antithesis of everything the Boston-Chicago series has been. Josh Smith set the tone early, and Joe Johnson exploded from behind the arc to rout the Heat late, and advance into the second round and a date with LeBron James and the [...]

NBA Playoffs Day 11: Mavericks eliminate Spurs, Blazers hold on, Celtics and Magic go up 3-2

The Dallas Mavericks were able to put away the playoff fixture Spurs, to win their first series since their Finals run in 2006. The young Portland Trailblazers were able to hold on and stave off elimination by winning over the Houston Rockets, while the Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic win their games to get within 1 win of the next round.

NBA Playoffs Day 8 Recap

Only the LA Lakers won on the road today, as the rest of the home teams won their playoff games. Miami pounded Atlanta behind another stellar performance from Dwyane Wade, and crucially, Jermaine O’Neal. New Orleans won a hard-fought game with Denver with Chris Paul’s rediscovery of his shot, and Dallas wasted amazing efforts from Tony Parker and Tim Duncan to establish a 3-1 lead in their series.
