Another classic. This series is already destined for the “Greatest Games,” and this game right here might be the best one yet. Ray Allen scored a career playoff-high (and three shy of the Celtics playoff record) 51 points, and tied the NBA playoff record with 9 three-pointers. [...]
The Dallas Mavericks were able to put away the playoff fixture Spurs, to win their first series since their Finals run in 2006. The young Portland Trailblazers were able to hold on and stave off elimination by winning over the Houston Rockets, while the Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic win their games to get within 1 win of the next round.
The Cleveland Cavaliers completed a sweep of the Detroit Pistons to become the first team to advance to the next round, while Chicago and Orlando win to tie their respective series. In the Western Conference, Houston wins by a point to lead their series with Portland 3-1.
All the home teams won today, as the Celtics routed the Bulls, the Mavs beat the Spurs, and the Jazz won over the Lakers in a tight game.
