Basics of Palm Reading

Found this cool, well-presented “How To” video on reading palms. I frequently found myself pausing or going back to certain parts (whilst checking my own palm), so I decided to list down the steps and provide some screen caps.

Kwentong Jeepney

As a person gradually moves out from the cocoon of childhood to the exciting world that is adulthood, many of the terms he grew up familiar with take on new definitions. The old definitions don’t necessarily disappear, often they just become supplanted as defaults. “A drink” no longer means water. “Sex” no longer means gender. “Life” is now the opposite of “work”.

Txt and Email

Cell phones and the Internet. Many today find these wonders of the information age indispensable. I myself profess to not be able to survive a day without the awesomeness that is the World Wide Web. Sure it’s an exaggeration, but there’s some truth to it. Case in point: when the net’s down at home I make it a point to call our service provider, I don’t do that for when cable TV or the landline is acting up.

Review: The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 (2009)

It’s been a while since I’ve gone to the theaters to watch something that’s neither a comedy nor a special-effects eye candy. But this movie has gotten very good reviews from my friends, and so I decided to give it a try. Never mind that it scored pretty low in Rotten Tomatoes.

PE Subjects in UP

While enlisting for subjects this coming semester, I decided to check on the list of PE subjects offered. PE subjects are free in UP and you can take more than the prescribed number, which is four. I noticed there are some activities they didn’t offer a few years ago and there are those that they [...]

Dionisia Pacquiao

Yesterday was Dionisia Pacquiao’s birthday. No no silly, Manny’s real name is not Dionisia, it’s his mom - or as the pun-crazy media has started calling her - Pacmom (uhh, right). She’s not quite as famous as her son (yet), but there’s no doubting her celebrity status. Echoing another blogger’s sentiments, who the hell does not know Dionisia Pacquiao?!?

Nakamamatay Naman Talaga!

If you’ve been anywhere outside your home for the past five years or so, then I’m sure you’ve seen one of those pink signs put up by MMDA. The most famous (or infamous, depending on your take on it) is the one which reads “Walang Tawiran, Nakamamatay.” At the time, the signage really made an [...]

Summer Fever, the Bad Kind

Last Monday night, Sen. Ping Lacson was unable to attend an ANC forum for potential presidential candidates because he “fell ill.” On the same day, Christian Bautista missed performing at the coronation night of Binibining Isabela 2009 because he was hospitalized for a suspected case of dengue. One of my friends plurks about having “on-and-off [...]

Old Jokes

After reading a dozen jokes, some I haven’t really heard before, I didn’t find myself laughing as much as I hoped. Maybe it was the way they were written, but the jokes just felt so old, even the ones labeled “new”. I can almost smell what ten years ago smelled like, back when my idea of Internet fun was to look for “Jokes” or “Funny Stories” on search engines like Yahoo!, Altavista, or Ask Jeeves.
