If there is one thing that I wanna share with folks back home about my stay here in the US (for a project stint at work), it would be those commercials that caught my attention. I love watching commercials; in fact, I download and keep copies of those that I like. I am going to share with you the top five commercials that I was able to watch, and really liked during my stay here.
- Number 5: T-Mobile Fave 5 commercial (features Dwayne Wade and Charles Barkley).
Since it’s the NBA Playoffs now, allow me to start with this T-Mobile commercial. If we can only revive the eagerness of Pinoys to watch PBA games, we would probably see more of our basketball greats on TV commercials. Not that I am saying that I want to see PBA greats on TV commercials, but imagine how we can avoid advertisers from using overexposed celebrities on TV, not because they want to convey a message, but because they want our eyes to get glued for a while.

- Number 4: ShamWow!
After watching this 2-minute infomercial, I am sold. Makes me want to buy one. Wanna know why? Watch it. Then tell me if you are sold on the product, too.

- Number 3: Liberty Mutual
This concept has been done in some other commercials in the past but its power to convey the message never fails. Pay it forward - one should never get discouraged from doing good. This actually inspired the unconditional good side in me.

- Number 2: Heineken Beer
True to what we call real men: real men love beer, real men give what women want.
Real mean do not get more excited in entering a walk-in closet than women, except when the “closet” contains…
You might also want to check out: Lebron James and the Cavaliers spoofing this Heineken commercial. It takes longer to establish the setting, but the payoff is worth it.
- Number 1: State Farm Insurance
The concept is purely awesome. When parents begin to see their children grow up, they try deny that fact. They still treat their teenage daughter or son as if they were still five or six years old. But isn’t that an advantage to the teenage kids? Who cannot resist a cute six-year old girl when she borrows the car keys from her dad? Yeah, a little girl asking for car keys; watch out for the little brother.
